Many blogging software providers offer a selection of themes for bloggers to choose from for their blogs. Alternatively, predesigned blog themes can be found through a variety of websites, and many web designers create custom themes for blogs.
2. A theme refers to the design of the web page. It’s a way to coordinate all the elements that go into making the web page so that they complement one another and reinforce the site’s subject matter.

Thread
A series of remarks posted by people in a public comment section of a blog that follow a conversational and topic related sequence.
Whilst used on blogs to describe related comments under a single blog article, this term is more specifically and accurately associated with on-line forums, many of which use a ‘threaded’ format that indents related digressions from the main ‘conversation’ in a branching manner, making it more clear to which previous comment a person it replying. Although some blog-forum hybrids also use this ‘threaded’ format within their public comments section, the term is more commonly associated with forums rather than blogs.
2. A contributor to an online discussion whose purpose in posting is primarily is to generate intense debate, often with intentionally inflammatory rhetoric. Troll literally “troll,” a form of fishing, for reaction from contributors to the forum with the intention of stimulating a flamewar.

technical A Turing Test is a test which determines if the party on the other end of a remote communication is a human or a computer program (also known as a ‘Captcha’ (qv)).
The major difference between a blog and a wiki is that a blog is more directly under the control of the owner(s) and the primary objective of a blog is for the owner(s) to express themselves to their target audience. A wiki on the other hand is about collaboration (in a general sense) rather than expressing views.

The definition of blogging is something that is very much in flux, as the new technologies that appear every day redefine what a blog is, what a blog can be, and what a blog should do. For many years, blogs were defined as text-based websites that kept records of days, similar to a captain’s log on a sailing ship. However, this started to change as the group of people who kept blogs became more diverse. The more bloggers began to explore the limits of the medium and of the technology that made it possible, the more the boundaries of what could be called a “blog” expanded.

Today, there are an abundance of photo blogs, and there are even video blogs as well. Mobile blogging devices may well change the definition of blogging entirely by making it possible for bloggers to create new kinds of posts. Another element of the blogosphere that is starting to redefine blogging is the corporate blog. As more companies hire writers to keep blogs with the sole purpose of creating positive buzz about their brand, bloggers across the globe are arguing about whether these manufactured blogs are really worthy of the name. Between all of these different forces that are constantly expanding and reshaping the blogosphere, it is difficult to imagine that the definition of what is and is not a blog will ever remain fixed for very long.

A blog is basically an online journal wherein you can digitally pen down your thoughts, ideas, opinions and practically anything that you want people to read. Blogs come in different styles, formats, and settings, depending on the preference of the user. Many blogging sites, offer built in features such as hyperlink, straight texts, pictures etc. Some blogging sites, even allow you to put video and mp3′s on your blogs.

A person who writes a blog is popularly known as blogger. She/He writes the contents of the blog. Instead of writing texts, some bloggers choose to make their blogs more audio friendly, by using spoken word entries. This is called audio blogging. Other bloggers use videos in video blogging and images known as photo blogging while others benefit from the use of all.

A blog may have the following features:

title- which allows you to label your post
body- this is the content of your post
trackback- other sites can be linked back to your blog
permanent link- every article that you write has a URL
comments- this allow readers to post comments on your blog.

The practice of bloggers writing on a blog is aptly named as blogging. Anyone who wants to start a blog can do so by becoming a member of a blogging website of their choice. Once they’ve become members, they automatically become a part of that particular blogging community. They can browse through other bloggers pages, and link them back to their own blogs. They can also make comments on other members’ blogs.

But by far, the most popular blog type is the one that takes the form of a personal journal. This is the kind that is usually used by first time bloggers. Individuals who want to document the daily struggle of their everyday lives, poems, rants, opinions, find that blogging offers them a medium in which to express themselves.

Bloggers usually communicate within themselves. This is one of the appeals of blogging. It creates a community of people sharing their ideas, thoughts, and comments with each other.

Blogs varying in topics, themes, and set-ups, can be found in blog directories. First time users who want to get an idea of what the blogging world is all about can browse through a number of blogs using these directories. This way they’d get an idea of what these blogging communities are like.

Blogging is really for everyone. Just enjoy it, write anything you want. Of course, there are rules to follow. But overall, it can be fun, simple and easy.

If you are into blogging, then you must have read about the achievements of Carl Ocab. As a blogger at the age of 13, his claim of earning money online became a hot topic in the blogosphere. Some were amazed and wanted to know how he did it but some were questioning the credibility of his claim. My view? He had good mentors.

Today, I finally met Carl Ocab, that is about two years after he became popular at the age of 13. He attended the free seminar conducted by Joel Christopher at the University of Sto. Tomas, Manila which I also attended.

He looks older than a 13-year old because he is already 15 according to him. I could have gotten more pictures if I brought my extra battery with me

An extraordinary kid simply dressed in black shirt and pants, you’ll never guess he is already earning from blogging. A real masterblogger in his own right, that is Carl Ocab – the KidBlogger.

Taking advantage of what the web offers in terms of blogging, I am always in search of the best and yet free WordPress templates. It doesn’t mean that I don’t support the premium ones but let’s look at the free ones first.

While looking for an appropriate WordPress template for Master Bloggers, I decided to make a compilation of the themes I will encounter during my search. I have not chosen a particular theme yet (and a sponsor is always welcome but the choices are getting longer.

The themes included in the listings are either a magazine-style or a clean, professional WordPress layout or can be both. Choices on the WordPress template to use depend on the niche and personal preference. For text-heavy professional looking websites, finding a free template that will encourage readers to read more (aside from quality content) is time consuming especially when you can’t find the right and yet free template for the website you have in mind. There are too many designer sites to visit so a list will always come in handy. Until I began compiling the list, I have not seen some of them.

Some of these templates have instructions that must be followed in order to display correctly so be sure to read the readme.txt file that may be included in the package. Visit the links for the demo and/or downloads.

Information made easy!Whether you’ve worked in your field for ten months, ten years, or longer than you’d care to remember, chances are you rely on trade magazines to keep you up to speed with trends, opportunities, and new developments in your industry. And like most of us, you’ve probably found yourself hunting at some point for a case study, white paper, best practices guide, or other source of information to steer you toward the best possible decision about one of the many projects on your plate.

We can help. Through our partnership with TradePub.com, we are pleased to offer you FREE subscriptions to popular business magazines across more than 30 industry sectors, plus complimentary white papers, webinars, ebooks, podcasts, software, and more.
